ELSAH, Illinois — Midway through his 8-kilometer race at the NCAA cross country national championships, Tucker Meijer picked up his pace. The Amherst College junior estimates he passed 30 runners the final 4 kilometers.

He finished 112th, and those 30 runners he passed moved the Amherst Mammoths into fourth place as a team.

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana — As the runners prepared to start the race, Kelsey Tyler stood in the front and center of the seven IUPUI women’s runners at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 10.

 

The Jaguars were one of 34 teams along the starting line, and as Tyler looked down the 1,000-meter opening straightaway, she knew she was likely less than 25 minutes from being done with cross country.

Carne had dabbled in diving since he was 8 years old, but he never dove off anything higher than a 1-meter springboard.

Konrad Eiring (sophomore, Illinois men’s track & field) ran a personal-record 800-meter time of 1:50.41 to finish ninth in a field of 130 runners at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 14. He won the 800 meters (1:52.31) on Saturday at the Illinois Twilight for his first win of the season.
